About Us

Founding Advocate

LaShonda Roberts is an educational advocate, author, and transformative leader with extensive experience in special education, school leadership, and family empowerment. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to educational equity and ensuring that students receive the support and services they are entitled to under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act IDEA.

As a former Assistant Principal and Special Education Chairperson, LaShonda served in schools with a high population of students qualifying for special education and IDEA services. In these leadership roles, she led systemic efforts to strengthen compliance, improve instructional practices, and improve outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.

LaShonda has trained educators to organize, implement, and monitor student accommodations with fidelity, ensuring instructional practices aligned with student needs. She has also reviewed school scheduling and service delivery models to confirm that students were receiving services as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs IEPs. Her leadership prioritized collaboration, accountability, and student centered decision making.

Beyond her work in schools, LaShonda is the author of Golden Nuggets for the Strong Friend, a reflective and faith centered work that speaks to resilience, purpose, and the unseen weight often carried by those who support others. Her authorship further reflects her commitment to uplifting voices, fostering healing, and empowering individuals to advocate for themselves and those they love.

LaShonda is known for forging strong partnerships between districts, schools, and families, creating trusting relationships that center student success. Through Vintage Amour Advocacy Group, she brings her professional expertise, lived experience, and compassionate leadership directly to families, guiding them with clarity, confidence, and care through the special education journey.

Our mission

Vintage Amour Advocacy Group was founded on the belief that advocacy is an act of love. With decades of experience in education and special education leadership, we stand beside parents and guardians navigating the complexities of IEPs, 504 plans, and student accommodations.

Our approach is both professional and personal, blending educational law expertise with empathy and understanding. We help families communicate effectively with schools, understand their rights, and build strong partnerships that lead to lasting student success.

At Vintage Amour Advocacy Group, advocacy isn’t just paperwork, it’s purpose. It’s about restoring confidence, amplifying voices, and ensuring that every child receives the support they deserve to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
